Commissioner Hoffbeck in Kenai for Sustainable Future Suggestions

Governor Bill Walker’s office is still taking suggestions from Alaskans on what can be done to create a sustainable future for the state.

Kenai Chamber of Commerce President Johna Beech says that process began post-budget discussions and will continue at the joint chamber luncheon tomorrow.

Beech: “This year, anyone that has been following anything going on in Juneau has noticed that they’ve had some issues for finalizing the budget for the state of Alaska. So what the Governor’s office is doing is he’s put together a team to go out into the communities and talk about what is a sustainable future for Alaska. So tomorrow, at the joint Kenai/Soldotna Chamber luncheon we’ll actually hear from Randall Hoffbeck, who is the commissioner for the Department of Revenue.”

The Kenai Library will also be setting up a set of computer terminals for the public to offer their feedback or suggestions tomorrow after the luncheon.

The Tuesday, July 21 luncheon will begin at noon at the Kenai Visitors Center.

Those wishing to eat may R.S.V.P. through the Soldotna(262-9814) or Kenai(283-1991) Chamber of Commerce.
