This weekend the Paint the Kenai Community Mural Project held three sessions for community members to volunteer.
Marcus Mueller has been coordinating the project since the beginning.
Mueller: “It’s very exciting and the people who have been part of this project are what make it exciting. The idea came from Seward, I knew that we really would benefit from having a mural in our community like they have in Seward. I also knew that I couldn’t do it and it would take help from lots of people to do it and people from all corners have stepped up, brought their talents to the plate and are making an incredible mural that is going to be a gift to the community.”
Once finished, Mueller said the mural will be installed at the Kenai Airport.
Mueller: “I’m really excited that people chose the Kenai Airport as a location for this mural, its going to be a great fit for one and second the airport is one of our gateways to our community, its a place that a lot of things happen at, people meet their family or are reintroduced to their family and friends, some really important times happen at the airport and what an important gateway we have there.”
