If you’re interested in the City of Kenai’s financial situation, codes on junk vehicles, or the former bowling alley, the Kenai City Council meeting is the place to be tonight.

The city’s lengthy Fiscal Year 2015 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report will be presented to council members by Michelle Drew, an associate for the city’s financial firm. City Manager Rick Koch says the annual report serves to keep the city accountable.

Koch: “To make sure that I and the other folks that work for the city are doing our job in a generally accepted manner and that there are no surprises in which the accounting is being conducted or performed.”

The council is also scheduled to hold a public hearing on making changes to city code regarding junk or abandoned vehicles and the actions residents need to take if a car or truck on their property falls under those definitions.

A presentation by a community group working to save the Kenai bowling alley is also scheduled.

The Wednesday, December 2 meeting will begin at 6 pm in the Kenai Council Chambers.
