Conference Games & Homecomings Fill Week Five Football Schedule

For the first time in the 2016 football season all three central peninsula football programs will play conference games, including Homecoming contests for Soldotna and Kenai and a road trip to newest Peninsula Conference member Joe Reddington High School for the Nikiski Bulldogs.

 

SoHi vs Palmer   6:00 p.m.   Homecoming Friday Night     ESPN 1140AM and www.radiokenai.com

The Soldotna Stars, having extended the programs current win streak to 43 games (best in Alaska history and #3 in the nation for current win streaks), begin play in the Northern Lights Conference with the Stars first conference game of the season on Friday night against Palmer High School at Soldotna High School.  Game time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and it is Homecoming Night at SoHi.

The Stars ran the table against non-conference opponents for a 4-0 overall record, including victories over a pair of top-ranked Anchorage opponents.  The Stars begin their push to a Northern Lights Conference championship and a fifth-straight Medium School football championship against a 1-3 Palmer Moose team; which recorded an NLC victory over Kodiak 38-18 last week.

Nikiski vs Joe Reddington High School     7:00 p.m.    KSRM 920 AM and www.radiokenai.com

The Bulldogs, 2-2 on the season and 1-0 in the Peninsula Conference, travel for a Friday night contest at first-year, varsity program Joe Reddington High School.  Game scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

The Bulldog are riding a two-game win streak into a Peninsula Conference showdown with the Huskies, including a 33-0 shutout of Vosnesenka in week four of the football season.

Nikiski vs Joe Reddington, a 7:00 p.m. game on Friday night in Knik area at Joe Reddington School.

Kenai vs Kodiak     2:00 p.m.     Homecoming Saturday     ESPN 1140AM and www.radiokenai.com

The Kenai Kardinals look to record a third-straight victory over a Medium School opponent when Kenai hosts Kodiak on Saturday for the Kardinals’s Homecoming game.  Game scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at KCHS.

The Kardinals stand at 2-2 on the season and unbeaten in divisional games coming off a 25-7 victory over Eagle River.  The Kodiak Bears stand at 3-1 with a loss last weekend to Palmer.

Kenai vs Kodiak, a 2:00 p.m. game on Homecoming Saturday at Ed Hollier Field in Kenai.
