Northern Lights Conference soccer closed April with showdowns between Kenai and Kodiak and SoHi and Nikiski with games counting toward conference records.
Kenai Girls 15 – Kodiak 0
The Kardinals girls offense exploded on Kodiak with 15 goals; as Alli Steinbeck recorded her third shutout in the past four Kenai games.
Samantha Morse and Olivia Brewer each recorded three-goal, hat tricks; Cori Holmes and Hayley Maw both scored two goals, while single goals were scored by Lara Creighton, Hannah Drury, Rebecca Miller, Berit Fossgaard and Emily Halstead.
The Kardinal girls stand at 3-0 in NLC play and 8-1-1 on the season.
Kenai Boys 0 – Kodiak 0
The Kardinal boys and Kodiak boys failed to score in Saturday’s defensive battle in Northern Lights Conference Southern Division action. The Kardinal boys stand at 2-0-1 in the NLC and 7-2-1 overall.
SoHi Girls 3 – Nikiski 0
The Stars girls shutout Nikiski 3-0 in Northern Lights Conference action. Reagan Schoessler, Jaela Hubbard and Abi Tuttle scored for SoHi; Ella Stenga recorded the shutout in goal for the Stars.
SoHi Boys 9 – Nikiski 0
The SoHi boys improved to 8-3 on the season with a 9-0 shutout of the Nikiski Bulldogs in NLC play. SoHi’s Dylan Kuntz lead the scoring with three goals. Ben Godrey added two goals (late in the contest). Connor Larson, Eric Mayoral, Johnny Smithwick, and Timmy Smithwick added single goals for the Stars.
