Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, and candidate for Alaska’s sole seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, held a meet and greet event at Ginger’s Restaurant at the Peninsula Center Mall in Soldotna Saturday evening. While there, she shook hands and took pictures with residents. At least 100 people showed up to the event. Some of those in attendance showed up donning MAGA gear, others brought large Sarah for Alaska posters.
Palin told supporters:
“On our drive to, we were just talking about how instrumental the Peninsula is, the Kenai/Soldotna hard working families, how when it comes to our nation’s sovereignty and our solvency, energy independence, so much of it is pivotal that the Kenai Peninsula is allowed to access, responsibly, our resources and not letting some far off faceless bureaucrats and politicians in D.C. tell us as Alaskans what we can and can’t do with the God-given natural resources (applause) because he has dumped those here under foot and responsible use for mankind, that’s what we need to be concentrating on.”
Despite receiving the endorsement of former president Donald Trump, Palin faces a crowded primary of 47 other candidates.
The by-mail Special Primary Election is scheduled for Saturday, June 11th. The Alaska Division of Elections will continue to mail ballots through June 1st. Beginning May 27th, you may also vote in person at many of the absentee voting locations throughout the state.
