Construction in Alaska has begun and a variety of projects have delays that could affect traffic to and from the Kenai Peninsula.
The Seward Highway mile 54.5 to 75 is scheduled through the season and drivers in that area can expect lane restrictions, flagging operations and minor delays 24 hours a day Monday through Thursday.
In Homer, the Homer rehabilitation includes East End Road, Kachemak Drive to Waterman Road.
That project is scheduled through July and and will resume activities May 26, after Memorial Day Weekend.
Heavy equipment and construction worker activity on the shoulders of the area are expected Monday through Saturday from 8:00am to 6:00pm.
According to the Department of Transportation, this construction season will see over $330 million dollars in road projects.
