Cook Inlet Academy Releases Students Early

Cook Inlet Academy has decided to release students early this afternoon due to the on-going power outage affecting at least 9,600 HEA members.

Cook Inlet Academy Principal Mary Rowley says of the release…

Rowley: “We’re gonna go ahead and let the kids go home, because technically if the power is gonna be out for two hours or more then we lose heat and that becomes an issue. So at some point I have to make the call about letting them go. So we’ve decided to go ahead and proceed with evacuation procedures. All parents are being notified and all parents have to check their children out at the front desk, they may not go to the classroom. We’re just doing out safety precautions and we know HEA is doing their very best to get this fixed.”

Cook Inlet Academy normally begins releasing students for the day beginning at 2:45pm.
