The Central Peninsula Hospital has been awarded an “A” grade in the Fall 2014 Hospital Safety Score by Leapfrog Group which rates how well hospitals protect patients from errors, injuries, and infections.

Bruce Richards with CPH…

Richards: “So the Hospital safety score includes 28 measures and they were developed by a six member panel and they’re all currently in use by the national measurement and reporting program.”

He said that being involved in the score is voluntary and hospitals must submit their own data.

Richards: “Five hospitals in Alaska submitted data and we just recieved our score at the end of last week where we received our fourth straight A.”

Central Peninsula Hospital was the only facility of the five that provided data to be awarded an A. Fairbanks Memorial Hospital received a D, Alaska Regional Hospital received a C, and Mat-Su Regional as well as Providence Alaska Medical Centers received Bs.
