A wildland fire was reported by Alaska State Troopers that was quickly spreading off of Trapline Lane near Browns Lake in Funny River. Division of Forestry resources and CES personnel responded to the scene. The size of the fire was two acres with air and ground resources battling the blaze.

A helicopter along with the BD-125 and BC Fireboss group were requested by the closest resource to the scene. The blaze was ranked 3-4, according to the Alaska Interagency Coordination Center Wildland Fire Dashboard, which said that the fire burned black spruce, slash, grass, and dead material. The fire had 6–8-foot flame lengths with isolated torching.

According to a KPB Alerts social media post, the major portions of the fire have been knocked down to contain the fire spread, and resources will be released as suppression objectives are met. Fire crews spent the evening completing a saw line around the hottest area of the fire.

The Colville Type 2-IA crew was requested to come down from Chugach to assist with containment and mop up efforts. A temporary flight restriction was established while authorities battled the fire.

Resources remained on the scene to monitor for activity.
