The 2021 Nikiski Class Races, designed as a season-opening event for peninsula high school runners, featured many outstanding, early-season results including a top time turned in by reigning Division II state champion Jayna Boonstra of Kenai Central High School.
The fastest times of the Nikiski Class Races were recorded by the event’s returning champions. Jayna Boonstra from KCHS recorded a time of 21:14 to top the girls field in the Junior-Senior Girls category and post the girls fastest course time for the day. Homer’s Seamus McDonough raced to a 17:53 to win the Freshman-Sophomore division and post the fastest overall boys time of the meet. Kenai’s Emilee Wilson posted a 23:03 in the Freshman-Sophomore Girls; Kenai’s Jack Laker recorded an 18:57 in the boys Freshman-Sophomore race.
Races were competed in combined girls and boys events; then times were sorted by girls & boys.
