Cruise season officially kicks off in Homer on Wed., April 30, with the arrival of Viking Cruise Line’s Venus. The ship is scheduled to be in port from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., bringing approximately 930 guests to explore the area.
Throughout the day, many passengers will embark on local tours, with many visiting popular attractions like the Pratt Museum and the Spit Shops.
A shuttle service will run on a scheduled loop to help guests experience the best of what Homer offers.
“We are excited to welcome Viking and their passengers to Homer and look forward to sharing what makes Homer special,” Said the Homer Chamber of Commerce.
The arrival of Venus marks the start of a busy cruise season, providing a boost to local businesses and offering visitors a glimpse into Homer’s natural beauty and vibrant community.
May’s projected cruise ship arrivals in Homer will be May 7, when Oceania Riviera will arrive with 1250 guests, and Viking Orion will arrive on May 29 with 930 guests.
