Texas Senator Ted Cruz(R) appeared at a “Get Out the Vote” rally at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex Sunday, where he backed U.S. Senate candidate Dan Sullivan(R).
In his speech and during an interview Sen. Cruz said Alaska is “Ground Zero” for changing the U.S. Senate.
Cruz: The men and woman of Alaska will cast a ballot to retire Hairy Reed to change the path we’re on from the failed Obama economic agenda and get back to an environment where small business can prosper where jobs and opportunities and plentiful and where the federal government defends out constitutional rights rather than attacking our constitutional rights.”
After the Sunday rally, Sen. Cruz recorded a message to Alaskan Libertarian Voters asking them to vote for Dan Sullivan.
Libertarian U.S. Senate candidate Mark Fish said he had seen the video.
Fish: “Frankly I think its a day late and a dollar shot. You knew we have been trying to engage Dan Sullivan on ideas for the entire campaign and every step of the way hes spurned an exchange with us. Now I think he realises the race is close and he can’t win without the libertarians. So he brings in a life preserver to save his campaign, we’ll see if it works.”
Fish said he has taken a more grass roots approach to his campaigning and did not hold any rallies over the weekend like his opponents Sullivan and Sen. Mark Begich did.
