Dylan Dahlgren, Soldotna High School senior, signed a letter of intent to play college football on Monday in a ceremony at SoHi.
Dahlgren has committed to play collegiate football for Dickinson State University in Dickinson, North Dakota. Dickinson plays football in the NAIA as part of the North Star Athletic Association.
Dahlgren earned the ASAA Division II Lineman of the Year Award for the 2021 high school football season as a member of the Soldotna Stars football program. Dahlgren was also named Northern Lights Conference Lineman of the Year. Currently, Dahlgren is a member of the SoHi hockey team and he also excels as a thrower on the SoHi track and field team.
The Blue Hawks won their seventh consecutive North Star title after going a perfect 8-0 in conference football games. The Blue Hawks’ fell in the opening round of the NAIA national tournament against Grand View University. Twenty Blue Hawks were named to the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) All-Conference team, including an honorable mention for former SoHi player Galen Brantley III. Aaron Faletoi, also from SoHi, played defense for the Blue Hawks. The Dickinson roster in 2021 included six former Alaska high school football players.
