The Nikiski football team shut out the Redington Huskies 39-0 in Peninsula Conference football action on Homecoming Saturday at Nikiski.
The Bulldog defense forced the Huskies to punt six times; four were successful, one was blocked, and one was sacked. Two other possessions end with time expiring at the half and at the end of the game. Nikiski also stopped Redington on downs and with a fumble recovery. All told, the Huskies never sniffed the end zone.
Ian Johnson rushed for over 100 yards in the first half and two touchdowns. Cody Handley added two rushing touchdowns in the second half and quarterback Michael Eiter threw for two touchdowns; one to Tyler Olsen and one to Justin Harris.
Nikiski improves to 2-0 in the Peninsula Conference with a trip to Homer set for week six of the regular season.
