As of 7:40pm:

Republicans appear to have seized control of the U.S. Senate.

As of 7:20pm:

Republicans nationwide only need one more seat to secure the U.S. Senate, with Alaska still up for grabs.

The State Division of Elections said that as of 6pm, close to 50,000 early and absentee ballots had been received. Almost 22,000 of those were early votes. In 2012, just under 20,000 were received in total. This year’s final count won’t be known until later in the week.

Polls close at 8pm AST.
