  • Chris C. Cumings – 1,788 votes, 5.85%
  • Al Gross – 22,689 votes, 74.20%
  • John Wayne Howe – 3,094 votes, 10.12%

 

 

United States Representative – Republican

  • “John” T. Nelson – 8,059 votes, 16.97%
  • Don Young – 36,674 votes, 77.24%
  • Gerald L. “Jer” Heikes – 2,749 votes, 5.79%

United States Representative – Democratic / Independence

  • William “Bill” Hibler – 2,548 votes, 8.46%
  • Ray Sean Tugatuk – 3,425 votes, 11.38%

Prior to voting on election day, the Alaska Division of Elections reported more than 70,000 early votes and requests for absentee ballots. The Division of Elections will begin to count the first batch of absentee ballots on Tuesday August 25th. The division is scheduled to certify the results Sunday, August 30th.
