District 1 Little League All-Star Tournaments Feature Kenai & Soldotna Teams

The Alaska District 1 baseball tournaments, for different levels, are underway and will qualify district teams to the Alaska state baseball tournaments for Little League Baseball.

 

District 1 8-10 Tournament

Kenai Little League is hosting the 2021 8-10 Baseball Tournament with pool play running through July 14 and the championship bracket through July 17th on the Kenai Little League fields.

First round games were rained out on Saturday, July 10th.

Sunday: Dimond West defeated Kenai 15-0; Abbott-O-Rabbit 16 – Knik 4

Monday Schedule: Soldotna vs Knik; Kenai vs Abbott-O-Rabbit

Tuesday Schedule: Kenai vs Knik; Soldotna vs Dimond West

Wednesday Schedule: Soldotna vs Kenai; Dimond West vs Abbott-O-Rabbit

Bracket play begins July 15 and runs through July 17.

 

District 1  Seniors Tournament

Only three teams entered the Alaska District 1 Seniors tournament with Palmer, Polar and Kenai making-up the field.

Kenai dropped its opening game 6-5 t Polar, then rebounded with a 10-0 win over Polar and a 7-6 win over Palmer.  In the championship game, Palmer defeated Kenai 16-5.

 

District 1 Majors Tournament

The District 1 Majors baseball tournament is scheduled for pool play on July 15-17, hosted by Seward and Dimond West.
