The Seldovia VPSO notified Alaska State Troopers on Monday to report that 83-year-old Roger Wallin Sr., a Seldovia resident, had gone missing.
In response, the VPSO and local residents began searching the area for any sign of Wallin.
The following Wednesday, search teams made a critical discovery when they located a vehicle, which appears to be Wallin’s, submerged in approximately 30 feet of water near the Seldovia pier. The discovery has raised concerns that Wallin may be inside.
In response, troopers are coordinating deploying a dive team to Seldovia to investigate the submerged vehicle further and determine if Wallin is inside.
The team left Anchorage at 4:00 AM and is now in Homer en route to Seldovia.
At this time, the situation remains ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
