The office of D & L Construction was broken into sometime before 5:30 am this morning by a person believed to have been intoxicated, causing thousands of dollars of damage.
Co-owner Dan Smith…
Smith: “Tried to kick the doors in and then he broke the front window out and cut himself up real bad getting in, and then he tore the place up, flipped over the desk and broke the chairs and he sat in the chairs but he’d fallen down a lot and there was blood, a lot of blood all over the walls and ceiling, and then he took the fax machine and threw it out another window and crawled out that instead of using the door.”
After the individual climbed out the second broken window, the blood trail showed they traveled through the construction yard, over a fence, and into a subdivision behind the business.
Due to the amount of blood the individual appeared to have lost, the Troopers contacted the hospital and apprehended the suspect from there.
Smith said it didn’t appear the individual stole anything from inside the office.
