If you haven’t signed up yet, the deadline has been extended to register for the first ever March Madness Dodgeball Tournament that will be held on March 26th.

Kenai Chamber of Commerce President Johna Beech…

Beech: “We are hosting, with the Kenai Chamber and the Kenai Young Professionals, our first annual March Madness Dodgeball Tournament on March 26. It is $100 per team to register, we will be hosting it at Kenai Central High School. From what I understand there’s a few spots left, we’re looking for 16 teams to start and one winner.”

Kenai Young Professionals Programs Coordinator Pamela Parker says there are two goals for the event.

Parker: “The first one is the social aspect, just getting local professionals together for a fun day of dodgeball. And the second one is to raise money for our new program the Kenai Future Professionals that will be starting in April and that program will be run in the high schools to hopefully develop high school students into future professionals in the area.”

The new program will see members of Kenai Young Professionals mentor high school students as a way to encourage future professionals to stay, live, and work here on the Kenai Peninsula after graduation.

The entry fee covers participants’ breakfast and lunch on the day of the tournament. The Kenai Young Professionals’ website says the registration deadline has been extended until tomorrow, March 19.

Registrations can be found on the Kenai Young Professionals Facebook page or Kenai Chamber of Commerce’s website. You can also visit the Kenai Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center in Kenai to pick up a copy.
