Soldotna Professional Pharmacy began operating a drive-through COVID-19 testing site on Monday, June 8. This marks the first drive-through testing site in the central peninsula, greater Kenai and Soldotna area.
Their hours of operation are from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The testing team told KSRM that planning ahead is necessary: “We are appointment-only. We have to test according to the state’s criteria, so unfortunately, as of right now, we cannot test asymptomatic people unless they have a travel voucher or a referral from their physician. There’s a space for them to park, and then they can call us and we’re doing all of the testing inside of their vehicles.”
According to the pharmacy’s team on Facebook, they cannot provide specifics regarding the cost of testing, but note that they are billing insurance companies, making each case different depending on each insurance provider’s rate for testing procedures. They also note that the estimated turnaround time for tests is 48-hours, but that the time could fluctuate based on the amount of tests they conduct.
To make an appointment or to get more information, the testing team asks for folks to call (907) 714-1603.
