A project to widen shoulders and repave East Poppy Road is slated to begin next week.
Knik Construction will be doing the work according to Brian Gabriel with the Department of Transportation.
Gabriel: “We’ve ground College Road and are prepping it for paving and we’re hoping to start paving tomorrow[Friday] on it and the schedule hopefully is to get College paved out and start rotomilling on Monday morning the East Poppy section.”
Drivers can expect flagging operations and short delays during the planned work hours of 6 am to 6 pm .
The project is slated to be finished by Friday, June 12.
Gabriel said this not the project that will install the lighted walkway from K-Beach Road to K-Beach Elementary on East Poppy.
