Setnetters in the Kenai, Kasilof, and East Foreland sections will fish on Tuesday, July 14, from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
ADF&G Emergency Order number 19 also opens drift gillnetting in the Expanded Kenai and Expanded Kasilof sections during the same time period.
Those openings are based on the estimated cumulative passage of sockeye salmon in the Kasilof River through Sunday, July 12, which was approximately 235,000 fish.
In the Kenai River, the estimated cumulative passage of sockeye salmon through Sunday was approximately 135,000 fish, which is the second highest passage measured in the Kenai River through this date and the second highest estimate in the last 10 years (2006–2015).
