An employee of the Wagon Wheel in Homer has been arrested after the store was held up at gunpoint September 5 just before 2pm.
On September 11 Homer police arrested 19-year-old Tommy Neal after statements of the reporting victim had discrepancies and circumstances emerged.
Originally Homer Police said a white male, 5’9″ or 5’10” entered the business and pulled out a handgun, demanding money from the register.
The suspect was described as having short black hair and blue eyes, wearing black jeans and a black Raider’s hoodie. He left the Ocean Drive store with an undisclosed amount of money.
Witnesses said the man climbed into a white 4-door sedan, driven by a woman with long blonde hair, and the pair disappeared.
After investigation, much of the money taken was subsequently recovered at a local Homer residence and when Neal was arrested he offered a confession.
He was charged with False Report and Theft to the 3rd degree and was taken to the Homer Jail.
