The Cook Inlet Academy soccer team opened up its 2016 Borealis Conference campaign with a pair of victories against Wasilla Lake Christian School and Lumen Christi at the Kenai Sports Complex.
The Eagles defeated the Wasilla Lake Christian Rams 7-0 on Friday. Noah Leaf recorded a first-half hat trick en route to a five-goal performance. Logan Largent and Brady Hammond each added single goals.
In Saturday’s action, Cook Inlet Academy downed Anchorage’s Lumen Christi 7-2 behind a seven-goal performance from senior captain Noah Leaf, The Eagles ended Lumen Christi’s three-game winning streak. Cook Inlet opens 2-0 and travels to Anchorage to play Holy Rosary Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and Lumen Christi at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Kincaid Park.
