Fall athletic programs for high school athletes on the Kenai Peninsula will begin on schedule with the 2020-21 ASAA Return-To-Practice Protocols and ASAA Return To Football Protocols in place for the Wednesday, July 29th calendar start-date for Alaska high school fall programs.
Practices for high school football, football cheer, cross country running and co-ed soccer may begin on Wednesday, July 29th for Peninsula programs with coaches and administration putting proper protocols in place.
According to Alaska School Activities Association Protocols, fall practices are broken down into Low Risk, Intermediate Risk and High Risk based on average daily cases over the current, past 14 days on the Kenai Peninsula. The numbers are separated by area with four, distinct geographic districts, including: South Peninsula, Central Peninsula, Eastern Peninsula and Individual Communities ( such as Hope, Seldovia, Cooper Landing, etc.).

Risk Range (counts)
South Peninsula High Risk= 20 and above Medium Risk= 19-11 Low Risk = 10 and under
Central Peninsula High Risk= 52 and above Medium Risk= 51-32 Low Risk = 26 and under
Eastern Peninsula High Risk= 7 and above Medium Risk= 6-5 Low Risk = 4 and under
