The Central Peninsula fall sports programs, with the KPBSD risk level for the Central Peninsula dropping into the Medium “Yellow” Risk Level on Sunday, may return to practice and athletic contests under the protocols and guidelines of the Medium Risk Level and mitigation plans which have been submitted to the district.

The KPBSD case/incidence rate for the Central Peninsula moved to 43 cases and a daily incidence rate of 3.07 on Sunday, moving the Central Peninsula into the Medium “Yellow” Risk Level.

KPBSD created a “Resident Coronavirus Cases On The Kenai Peninsula” chart to track the daily number of cases on the Kenai Peninsula as reported by the State of Alaska. The cases are shown in three different ways:

  • a total of all cases
  • a total of cases in the last 14-day period
  • a daily average in the last 14-day period

The latter two numbers are used in coordination with the “KPBSD Level of Determination by Community-Region” chart to determine what alert level each region is in for KPBSD operations. Risk levels are not solely determined by the 14 day counts, but this data provides a framework for risk level.
