Investigators in Ohio are asking for information about four former Ohio residents as part of the investigation in the unsolved slaying of eight family members in 2016. The four were named as George “Billy” Wagner III; Angela Wagner; and their sons George Wagner IV and Edward “Jake” Wagner.
According to Dayton Daily News, investigators learned of the family’s location from a pastor and family friend.
Kelly Cinereski, pastor at Resurrection Bay Baptist Church in Seward, told the Daily News the Wagner family attended his son’s church Sunday a couple hours west in Kenai. The pastor has not seen them personally during their latest trip to the state, but said the family brought trailers.
Cinereski said he believes the Wagners are moving to the Central Kenai Peninsula, something they have been planning to do much of the decade-plus he has known them since he headed a church in Minford, Ohio. Over the past 11 years, the Wagners have come up three times to visit and fish.
Monday, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine made a plea for information related to the Wagner family and any conversations, dealings or transactions the public may have had with them, including but not limited to information regarding vehicles, firearms and ammunition, according to a release.
The Wagners have maintained their innocence in the murders of Rhoden family, whose ages range from 16 to 44.
Authorities have asked anyone with information to call the Pike County, Ohio, Sheriff’s Office at (740) 947-2111.
