The early contests at the 2019 Southcentral Conference Baseball Championships went totally chalk, as all higher seeded teams recorded victories on Thursday in the opening five games of the conference tournament being co-hosted at Redington and Houston High School.

Kenai 11 – Redington 1 Play-in opening game
..Kenai downed host Redington 11-1 to advance to face #1 seed Wssilla
Wasilla 23 – Kenai 3 5 innings
..The Kardinals were overpowered by #1 seed Wasilla in five innings. Wasilla advances to winners’ game against Palmer on Friday; Kenai moves to must-win contest against Grace at 1 p.m. Friday.
Kodiak 4 -Soldotna 3
..The Bears, on the strength of a four-run fifth inning, held-off SoHi 4-3. SoHi moves to a must-win pairing against Homer at 10 a.m. on Friday. Kodiak advances to a winners’ game against Palmer.
Homer 15 – Redington 5
.. Homer eliminated Redington in the first consolation game on Thursday.
