The City of Soldotna, in collaboration with the KPBSD and Kenai Peninsula College, is proud to announce the inaugural exhibition of Spirit of Soldotna: Showcasing Student Art. The program celebrates artistic talent while promoting civic engagement and appreciation for local culture. It highlights the creativity and talent of local students, providing them with a public platform to share their artistic expressions with the community.

Every six weeks, participating schools and the college will select a theme to guide student submissions, ensuring that the artwork reflects topics relevant to Soldotna, local government, and community life.

The city of Soldotna sent a note to public schools in the immediate Soldotna area and Kenai Peninsula College, announcing the program’s launch and inviting their students to participate. They also attached guidelines and policies that students can follow

The artwork from the schools will be displayed and rotated at the City Council Chambers every six weeks to feature new student work.

The first exhibition, featuring artwork from Soldotna High School art students, will be unveiled at the Soldotna City Council Chambers on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.

This marks the beginning of a rotating gallery that will showcase student artwork and celebrate the vibrant artistic voices of Soldotna’s youth.

The gallery will be open one hour prior to public meetings held at Soldotna City Hall to allow community members to view the artwork.

A schedule of public meetings can be found online at https://soldotna.diligent.community

The City of Soldotna invites community members, families, and art enthusiasts to attend the opening and support the talented students whose works will be on display.
