Five New Kenai Peninsula COVID-19 Cases

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services announced 25 new resident cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. Three cases came from Homer, one from Seward, and one from the Northern Kenai Peninsula. The state’s cumulative case count is now 816.

 

Alaska’s active case count is now 291, an increase of 15 from Wednesday’s active count. As the counts continue to rise, today marks another new single-day high for active cases.

 

There were also 19 new nonresident cases, including one in the Kenai Peninsula who is a seafood worker.

 

The state reports that 14 Alaskans are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, or are suspected of having it.

 

A total of 99,452 tests have been conducted, including 4,743 in the Kenai Peninsula.

 

These numbers reflect data from 12:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on June 24.
