After seven innings of frustration on offense, the Peninsula Oilers opened the eighth inning with five-straight hits and five runs, en route to a 5-3 victory over the Anchorage Glacier Pilots on Thursday at Mulcahy Park in Anchorage.
The Oilers were held to four hits in the first seven innings; however, the Oilers pitchers again were able to keep the team in the game until the offense heated up. The Oilers pitchers allowed only six hits as Sean Michel picked-up the win with two innings of relief work.
The Oilers record their sixth Alaska Baseball League win in the last seven games and stand at 12-8 in the ABL and 4 games up on the Anchorage Bucs.
The Oilers open a three-game home stand on Friday against the Anchorage Glacier Pilots at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.
