Kenai vs Kodiak @ Kodiak   5 p.m.   Kodiak High School

The Kenai Kardinals, 1-4 on the season, travel to Kodiak Island to face the winless (0-6) Kodiak Bears in a Northern Lights Conference contest with a playoff position still available to the Kardinals.  Kenai needs a victory over Kodiak on Friday and a regular season ending victory over SoHi to earn one of two playoff berths into the Division II football playoffs.

In week six of the regular season, the Kardinals were shut out by Eagle River 31-0.  The Kardinals defeated Kodiak in 2018 41-22.

The undefeated Soldotna Stars (5-0, 1-0 in NLC) face the Eagle River Wolves (4-2, 2-0 in NLC) in a battle for the top seed into the Division II playoffs (and the right to host the first-round game).

SoHi’s offense in five games has amassed over 2,400 yards and 258 points.  Every SoHi game has gone to running-clock except for the Stars 53-20 victory over South.

The Stars defeated Eagle River in the 2018 D-II state championship game 46-14.

SoHi carries the state’s longest current win streak at 14 games and the Stars have not lost to a divisional opponent since August 2012.
