Football Teams Enter Week Six With Conference & Non-Conference Contests

High school football advances to week six of the regular season with the Kenai Kardinals traveling to Chugiak on Friday for a non-divisional contest; the Soldotna Stars hosting conference rival Kodiak on Homecoming Saturday; and the Nikiski Bulldogs on the road to Homer for a conference pairing.

 

Kenai vs Chugiak @ Chugiak High School    Friday Night    7:00 p.m.

The Kenai Kardinals play out-of-division at Division I Chugiak on Friday, facing the Mustangs on Homecoming Night at Chugiak High School.

The Kardinals, 3-2 on the season, look to rebound from a Northern Lights Conference loss last week in Kodiak with a non-conference contest against the 5-0 Mustangs, ranked #2 in the Large School division.

Game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Soldotna Star football shoots for number 55 on Homecoming Saturday at Soldotna High School with the 5-0 Stars facing the 2-3 Kodiak Bears.

SoHi enters its second Northern Lights Conference contest having allowed only one touchdown in an NLC victory over Palmer. The Stars have defeated three Alaska Division I teams and Crater High from Oregon; in addition to the NLC win over powerhouse Palmer.

The Kodiak Bears are riding a home victory over the Kardinals in week five, Kodiak stands at 1-1 in conference play.

Game time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Justin Maile Field.

Nikiski vs Homer @ Homer High School    2:00 p.m.  Saturday

KSRM 920AM and www.radiokenai.com (pregame show @ 1:45 p.m.)

The Bulldogs look to win a third, straight Peninsula Conference pairing on Saturday, traveling to Homer to face the 4-1 Mariners.  Nikiski has posted back-to-back victories over Voznesenka and Joe Redington leading to a 2-0 Peninsula Conference record.

Game time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
