Another Division I opponent for the Soldotna Stars, the first conference pairing for the Kenai Kardinals and a schedule-filler for the Nikiski Bulldogs make-up the central peninsula’s high school football schedule for week four of the football regular season.
Friday Night Football

The Soldotna Stars will face a second-straight DI Cook Inlet Conference opponent with the South Anchorage Wolverines looking to challenge the Star at SoHi’s Justin Maile Field on Friday, September 2nd with the varsity game set for a 6 p.m. kick-off.
The Stars will take to the field on SoHi’s Homecoming having dominated the early season with 169 points scored in three games, averaging over 55 points per game with wins over North Pole, Service and West Valley. The SoHi defense has allowed only three, first half touchdowns in three games (one per game).
South Anchorage stands at 0-3 in the Cook Inlet Conference of Division I football with losses to Service, West and Colony.
Saturday Football

The Kenai Kardinals look to add a third victory of the season on the road with the Kenai traveling to Homer to face the Division II Mid-Alaska Conference opponent Mariners. Game time is re-scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday kick-off at Homer High School.
Kenai stands at 2-1 on the regular season with an impressive 24-6 victory over DII Palmer last week on the road. Kenai’s offense is averaging 33 points per game.
The Homer Mariners stand at 2-1 with a Mid-Alaska loss to the undefeated Houston Hawks and a week three 46-0 victory over Seward. The top three teams in the Mid-Alaska Conference advance to the Division III playoffs.
Nikiski vs East JV @ East 10:00 a.m.
Nikiski will fill an open week on their schedule with a game against the East Anchorage JV team on Saturday at 10 a.m. The Bulldogs also have open dates on week five and on week six of the football season due to Valdez pulling-out of the 2022 season. Nikiski will attempt to fill the schedule, updated schedules will be available when changes are confirmed.
