Former State Senator Paul Fischer passed away early Saturday Morning at the age of 85 after a brief illness. For decades, Fischer was the trusted host of KSRM’s “Sound Off” radio program. He arrived on the Kenai Peninsula in 1969 and was involved with the Alaska State Senate for 10 years, as well as being a member of the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly for decades. As part of his legacy Fischer was the father of 11 children and 32 grandchildren.
Funeral services are planned for Saturday, May 22nd at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Soldotna at 11:00 a.m. with a celebration of life to follow at the Fischer’s house at 2:00-5:00 pm.
