Four New Positive COVID-19 Cases In Kenai Peninsula

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported seven new positive COVID-19 cases in their Monday update, including four in the Kenai Peninsula Borough. One case is out of Kenai, one out of Homer, while two cases are listed as “other” locations in the borough.  For privacy reasons, communities under 1,000 residents are not specified in their positive cases.

 

This follows eight new cases from the Kenai Peninsula in Sunday’s report and two on Saturday.  Governor Mike Dunleavy held a press conference after the announcement of 27 new cases in Alaska on Sunday, during which he noted that there is no reason to panic.

 

The number of active cases of COVID-19 patients in the state is 89. This marks the highest active case count since April 19 when the active count was 98.

 

No new deaths have been reported, with that total remaining at ten fatalities.

 

These cases are reported using the state’s timetable of reporting counts: 12:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on May 31.
