Competing alongside U.S. Ski Team members and U.S. Olympic Team competitors, Soldotna’s Sadie Fox won the 2014 Conoco Phillips Super Tour Finals Classic Sprint event in the Junior Girls on Sunday, March 23 at Kincaid Park in Anchorage.
Fox recorded the fastest time in her semi-final heat and posted the fastest time in the event final, completing the 1.4-kilometer course in 4:35.11. Soldotna’s Hannah Potash also qualified to the finals in the sprint race, placing fourth in her semi-final race.
On Saturday, Fox finished 39th overall in the women’s 10-kilometer freestyle event; Potash placed 42nd.
Kikkan Randall, U.S. Olympian and member of the U.S. Ski Team, won both the 10-k freestyle and the 1.4-k classic sprint events; leading a women’s field that included six U.S. Ski Team members.
