On Friday at Kenai’s Challenger Learning Center the Rasmuson Foundation will host a town hall luncheon to discuss Alaska’s economic future as the state faces a multi billion dollar budget deficit.

Lisa Parker says the Foundation’s President Diane Kaplan will present Rasmuson’s summary of findings that Alaskans have provided regarding what they believe believe should be done.

Parker: “She’s also going to poll the audience and ask them what they think should be done, should we have new revenue, should we be looking at additional budget cuts. In addition to Diane, there will also be a panel that will include Senator Peter Micciche and [Kenai Peninsula Borough] Mayor Mike Navarre and they will be taking questions from Will Morrow who’s going to be our moderator and questions from the audience.”

Kaplan will also introduce an online, interactive Plan4Alaska Budget Challenge that will allow attendees to build and share plans for addressing Alaska’s budget gap.

The Rasmuson Foundation will provide free pizza and salads to attendees on Friday but requests that those interested in attending RSVP by emailing [email protected] or calling 907-297-2700.
