Author: Coach Dan Gensel |

Race four in the Tsalteshi Trails Freezer Food Series is set for Wednesday, December 27th with a fat bike event featured in the fourth week of the series.

The course will cover 4-5 miles on unlit trail, with a brief section along Isaac Rd.  Headlamps or front mounted lights will be required for racer safety on this course.  Registration opens at 5:30 p.m. next to the Skyview Middle School ice rink with race start at 6:00 p.m. Discounts and a few bonus points towards your series standing with a donation of non-perishable food for the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank.

The Freezer Food Series sponsors weekly races in partnership with Kenai Peninsula Food Bank and Central Peninsula Hospital. Donations for the food bank will be accepted at each week’s event.

This series is structured as a mix of freestyle cross-country ski races interspersed with a variety of other casual race events (E.g. Week 1: Ski, Week 2: 5k run, Week 3: Ski, Week 4: Frolf Biathlon, Week 6: Ski, Week 7: Fat Bike, etc.). Weekly event types are subject to weather and trail conditions/availability, so be sure to check back before each week’s race for upcoming event details.

If you’re interested in sponsoring a week of the series through a donation to the food bank or would like to volunteer with race setup/timing, contact Tsalteshi or Jordan Chilson for more info.
