Freezing Rain Advisory Cancelled Yet Still Possible

The National Weather Service has cancelled the freezing rain advisory that was issued yesterday stating that the warm front forecast was not sufficient enough to cause widespread freezing rain.

The weather service has said that there is still a possibility of isolated freezing rain events and Kenai Fire Chief Jeff Tucker advised drivers to travel cautiously.

Chief Tucker: “As the slick roads are out there, it’s snowing right now, but the possibility of having freezing rain is still predicted in the forecast, it’s really important to be cognizant of the fact the road conditions are dangerous out there and slippery. Take your time, reduce your speeds and travel with caution.”
