Students of the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District will have an abbreviated day this Friday.
Spokeswoman Pegge Erkeneff said school will end an hour and a half early on March 27 and bus schedules have been adjusted for the early release day.
Erkeneff: “And those are days when students actually have a shorter day by 90 minutes but teachers maximize the school day and work on collaborating and improving teacher’s teaching skills and work with one another in order to provide a better educational experience for our students.”
The one exception to Friday’s early release is Nanwalek, who will have their shortened day on Wednesday, March 25.
The district plans to reveiew the efficiency and effectiveness of these scheduled days at the end of the school year.
Friday May 1 is the last scheduled early release day for this year.
