The Kenai National Wildlife Refuge is temporarily closing Fuller Lakes Trail and parking lot beginning today through sometime next week while a power pole is replaced.
Deputy Refuge Manager Steve Miller…
Miller: “We were asked by Homer Electric Association to limit access on that trail while they replace a couple of poles directly adjacent to the trail. So we have agreed and we’re going to go ahead and close that and I think they are going to start work up there tomorrow.”
Miller says there are no other direct access trails to the Fuller Lakes.
The Refuge will notify the public when the parking area and trail head open, which is expected sometime around next Tuesday, October 20.
