People who use GCI as a carrier in the Kenai to Ninilchik areas may have intermittent abilities to call 911 from their cell phones because of a cell tower outage.
A cell tower outage in Kenai is intermittent and crews will not be able to fix the problem until tomorrow.
Currently technicians are working on one of the towers between Ninilchik and Kenai and hope to have that repaired in the next three to four hours.
Alaska State Troopers were notified by GCI but the telecommunications company did not specify what caused the outages.
