Gov. Parnell’s Peninsula Topic Opinions

Author: KSRM News Desk |

Recently, Gov. Sean Parnell has been involved in a number of important Kenai Peninsula topics.

He has been highly involved in the LNG Project which has now reached the furthest step this type of pipeline has ever been.

Gov. Parnell: “Well, because we’ve already filed the applications, this project is now dependent on Nikiski being the end point. The Project would have to file on another location if it was to go anywhere else. I’m committed to making it Nikiski. That’s what the economics say, and that’s just what makes sense.”

Parnell also attended the local meeting to address drug related thefts across the peninsula last Saturday.

He said his administration has been working to increase the number of Alaskan Troopers, but the solution will be a public-private partnership…

Gov. Parnell: “This is really a community-driven forum and a community-driven issue. I’m really thankful that we’ve got Nikiski residents in particular standing up and seeking help and willing to take a step forward.”

Gov. Parnell will appear on KSRM’s Soundoff at 10:00 am tomorrow, October 22, with host Karen McGahan.
