In order to meet the December 15 deadline for proposing a budget, Governor Bill Walker plans to release the budget of his predecessor Sean Parnell who prepared it prior to leaving.

According to a release earlier this week, the administration plans to propose a revised budget later.

Prior to being elected into office, Walker spoke with us about one facet of the operating budget he would like to address.

Walker: “That’s where most of the studies are that we’ve been doing, studies upon studies upon studies. I will go through and determine what projects are realistic that we can do and which ones we can’t and I’ll stop the studies of those that make no sense at all. So it’s one of those you have to put all the things on the table and take a look at, but the studies stand out for me.”

He has also named one of his top priorities as balancing the entire state budget.
