Revisions to Alaska’s health mandates regarding travel into the state during the COVID-19 pandemic take effect today.

As of 12:01 this (Friday) morning, travelers coming into Alaska will have to follow strict social distancing rules for only five days rather than the original 14 days. Those rules include avoiding indoor settings like restaurants and offices.

People coming into the state will also only need to test negative for COVID-19 once rather than twice. The test is free for residents and 250 dollars for nonresidents. Residents who travel outside of Alaska for less than 72 hours do not need to quarantine or test but should monitor for symptoms, and the critical infrastructure workforce traveling for any reason should follow protocols. Critical Infrastructure Workforce (CI) traveling for any reason should follow CI protocols.
