Both Grace Christian varsity teams recorded 3A Peninsula Conference road wins against the Kenai Kardinals on Friday at KCHS, extending the unbeaten streaks for the Grizzlies.
Grace Girls 58 – Kenai Girls 35
The Grace Christian girls built a 34-19 halftime lead on their way to a 58-35 victory over the Kenai girls in Peninsula Conference basketball action at KCHS on Friday.
Sophie Lentfer scored 22 points for the Grizzlies, as Grace remained undefeated against 3A opponents. Kenai’s Emma Beck topped all scorers with 24 points.
Grace Boys 57 – Kenai Boys 35
The Grace boys broke-open a tight contest with the Kardinals with a 21-point fourth quarter en route to a 57-35 Peninsula Conference victory. Grace owns the best record in 3A basketball without a regular season loss to a 3A team.
Luke Lentfer topped the Grizzlies with 21 points including 10 points in the final quarter. Jakob Kvasnikoff scored 17 points for Kenai.
The Kenai Kardinals host Homer on Saturday for Kenai’s Senior Night. Games are schedule for 2:30 p.m. for the girls and 4:30 p.m. for the boys at KCHS.
