A ski guide who was critically injured Saturday morning after being buried by an avalanche, died Monday night.

31 year old Aaron Karitis was caught in the avalanche in Kicking Horse Valley west of Haines, where he was a guide with Southeast Alaska Backcountry Skiing Adventures.

Troopers say Karitis was unconscious when he was pulled out from under the snow but that they were able to find him because he was wearing a locator beacon.

None of his clients were caught in the avalanche.
